I’m sitting with four layers of clothes on, gloves, hat, fluffy blanket top over everything and I’m still cold. I watch the timer ticking down then leap up the second the alarm bellows. Okay, the air has been changed I say out loud to myself. Enough of that! And I rush around the house closing windows and the back door, popping the heating on so that I can finally thaw out.
THERE’S A CHANGE IN THE AIR
My mind flips the words I just said to myself and suddenly Pluto is there, turning his heart to face me. Oh, sometimes this symbolism is so obvious that we miss it. A change is in the air, yes, Pluto, now I get it.
My little ritual for changing the air in the house has been a practice I have done all my life, following on from my mother and grandmother. Whilst their reasoning might simply have been about not allowing damp to build up in the home, mine is also about getting rid of stagnant energy. Now I realise that my daily ritual, come rain or shine, of opening the windows for at least 30 minutes, can be dedicated to Pluto for the foreseeable future.
The future we foresee is also a big part of the stories in the news right now. As Putin relaxes rules around when he gets to press that big red button, the UK and US gave consent for their long-range missiles to be fired from Ukraine into Russian territory. The escalation came as Pluto neared the end of Capricorn. Now that Pluto is in Aquarius, Russia is using new (Aquarius) weapons (Pluto).
Also, just as Pluto teetered on the 29th degree of Capricorn, a Māori MP caused uproar in parliament in New Zealand. I watched the video only a few days ago, my breath quickening, skin prickling with goosebumps as I witnessed the sheer soul power that Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke displayed as she burst into a Haka and ceremoniously ripped up a formal document. Despite the speaker of the house fumbling ‘don’t do that!’ she was quickly joined by fellow Māoris, even some in the opposition seats! It was extraordinary to watch and absolutely in keeping with the times. Because this came about because a bill has been brought to parliament that seeks to overhaul the founding documents between the British Crown and the Māori people. As a result, thousands upon thousands marched to Wellington in support of the Māoris. Founding documents are a staple of Capricorn, much like the phrase ‘founding father’ but Pluto, ever the changer, wants to redraw the boundary lines (only because it might afford some more power). But it’s NOT power for the original inhabitants and keepers of the land, however much the bill bringers try to present the positives.
Now that Pluto is in Aquarius, it is sitting on the Sabian symbol An Old Adobe Mission In California. Pluto will remain on this symbol until December 29. Whilst this symbol can speak of a place of shelter and issues connected to faith and religion, the shadow of this symbol can’t be ignored, especially with Pluto here. Because the missions were set up to evangelise to indigenous population. Tribal lands were taken over and thousands of indigenous people died because of being exposed to western diseases. This symbol can speak of the struggle between the old ways and the new ways, the destruction of cultures that have deep ties to the land and in turn, the destruction of the land itself. After reading the endless stories about misuse of power at the top in too many countries, not to mention the headline that says the this year, we breached the 1.5 degrees temperature rise we were so trying to avoid, I find myself thinking, I wish we could have truly wise people to lead us - the grandfathers and the grandmothers from indigenous groups: those who live close to Mother Earth, who understand her stories; who feel her every whisper. Those who understand what it is to be a community; those that prize people over status and power and money. Pluto hanging out on the first degree of Aquarius replays us sticky scenes from the past. Quietly I hear him ask, ‘So, how’s this going for you?’
As we come to Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius, maybe it would benefit us to look back to old world views, take the thinking of the past and apply it to the problems of the present. Right now, it feels like we are terrifying ourselves with our visions of the future, and yes, some of those thoughts might be warranted! But perhaps there are things we already know that would help. This is not just on a global scale either. These stories translate into our own lives as well. What occurs in the macrocosm is reflected in the microcosm. Reach back into your own history to resurrect precious teachings.
I recorded a video all about Mercury retrograde below. This was a high frequency reading with lots of channelled information reining down from on high. These are big times, with big messages.
