This week, Neptune, conjoins the North Node in Pisces. It’s been building up for weeks. We’ve witnessed it in tragedies, mass losses, the silent suffering on every street corner. And it was also there in the peace agreement and the release of hostages. It’s an aspect that we’ll only see the once in our lifetime. The last time it happened was in 1858, the next time will be 2183 – one for our children’s children. As I push the chart forward in time, I find myself wondering about my friend’s little boy, imagine him grown up with children of his own, slide past the obvious reference to the fact that neither me or my friend or indeed any adult I know right now will be here at all. By then, we will all be resting in paradise – or, perhaps here again in another form, or on another planet, in a world and life we cannot even conceive of. I plan to wander the universe for a while, take a trip through a few wormholes, visit other dimensions like I did in my dreams when I was a little girl. And then maybe I will rest in the gardens my deceased Grandmother showed me, the healing garden she called it. It was so quiet and peaceful, the Sun low as if it were permanent daybreak in summer. The dawn chorus singing for eternity. That’s my idea of heaven.
Sometimes I think we have barely touched the wonders of our imagination, the extent of its powers, just as we have barely explored our galaxy. Now I find myself thinking of Voyager 1, the space probe sent up in 1977, who only recently reached interstellar space. There is so much more to explore of our inner and outer universe. Maybe this week we can spend some time taking a few steps into the unknown - and take time to cultivate peace and stillness for contemplation. Because it’s not just about the experiences we have – it’s about the meaning we make from them. With Jupiter, co-ruler of Pisces having only just stationed direct a couple of days before, it feels like we’re getting a lot of signals saying, ‘extend your idea of what’s possible’.
Mercury will conjoin Chariklo also on the same day as the Neptune-North Node conjunction. It’s a mind-opening aspect, an invitation to hold space for healing. Here are wise words from the wife of Chiron; well-chosen, leaving enough space for personal expression. Here in Aquarius, she prizes your unique experience, holds it gently in her hands, regards us without judgement. Under her gaze, healing is a natural consequence of being seen and loved. She is extraordinary – and so are you.
I also briefly want to reference further U.S. happenings this week. I was very sad to see the news about the Washington plane crash on January 29. Symbolically speaking, a plane crash can speak of ‘ideas that come crashing down’, things taking a ‘nose-dive’. The Full Moon in December was on the Sabian symbol ‘Children Skating Over A Frozen Village Pond’. I can’t help but think that the terrible loss of the young ice-skating team, rams the point home about ‘skating on thin ice’. Given that Washington is where the President is seated, I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to see the resonance. Note too, that the helicopter which collided with the plane was on a Doomsday mission – specifically designed to train for evacuating senior government officials from the White House in an emergency. How much more Pluto in Aquarius can we get!
I also note that the papers are filled with talk of Trump’s tariff impositions on China, Canada and Mexico. Paul Ashworth of the consultancy Capital Economics said this could be the start of a very destructive trade war – what a sadly perfect description of unstable Uranus in monetary Taurus dispositing dictator Pluto in political Aquarius! Tit-for-tat tariffs are about to be all the rage it seems. Note that Uranus had just stationed the day after the recent Aquarius New Moon, so it seems the nervy, unpredictable edge of this planet has been strongly in play.
Uranus stationed opposite Juno, indicating splits in relationships. Juno too is known for her vengeful nature. The Sabian symbol of the Uranus station degree was A Warrior Riding Fiercely, Human Scalps Hanging From His Belt. Perhaps we could say that this character ‘takes no prisoners’ so to speak. This is a swift, decisive, utterly implacable character. Whilst it might be a useful trait for cutting down enemies when required, taking off everyone’s head just because you can is likely to come back to bite you in the backside at a later date. March 22 is when Uranus will conjoin Trump’s MC for the third and final time, whilst squaring his natal Mars. The square to Mars will perfect on May 9. And Uranus will begin to square his Ascendant-Descendant as it goes into his 10th house on July 6. In other words, there is a whole lot of ‘expect the unexpected’ coming from and towards Trump.
