The morning is grey and drizzly. I don’t want to go out, but the squirrels and birds are waiting, and my mental and physical health take a nosedive if I don’t go out for my morning walks. So, I push myself through the anticyclonic gloom and come home happier than when I left because, Mr. Crow almost brushed my hair as he flew in to greet me and I saw a daffodil in bloom – even if it was behind a metal ‘keep out’ fence, erected to protect building works.
Everything feels like this right now, tiny pops of sunny yellow in an otherwise squally, and sometimes intensely stormy atmosphere. I know that things are in development, but we’re not allowed access to see how it’s coming along. Every walk is a ‘dream walk’, every event along the way, a sign. I can walk the same route over and over and yet no morning is ever the same. I hear some people are calling these ‘omen walks’ these days. Yes, different names for the same thing – a realisation that everything is connected, microcosm, macrocosm. What I’m shown on my morning walk, the things that catch my eye, these have greater meaning if I choose to see it that way. Crow’s gentle wing ‘kiss’ tells me that something from on high is watching out for me – and for us.
Right now, it might seem like the entire planet is a rubbly building site! I’m mindful that I don’t want to drag everyone down in these posts by speaking of mundane matters but when the events on the world stage so closely mirror what is happening up there in the skies, I think it’s important to pay attention. Because even if the powers that be are not willing to change trajectory or raise their consciousness, we as individuals can do that. We can do the work so that one day, those in power, our descendants, will have learned from our example. I know it’s difficult to think sometimes of the next few months or the next few years but what is happening on the world stage was aeons in the making. It’s natural that things will take time to resolve. It’s natural that sometimes things get worse before they get better. Sometimes we do have to experience extremes so that we can find our centre.
Something that caught my eye this week was the media referencing 1812 in relation to Trump’s threat to annex Canada. It played on my mind until suddenly I remembered when I’d last thought about this date. It was in a post last year, that talked about the Great American eclipse in April 2024 which was accompanied by the ‘mother of dragons/devil’ comet. The comet was discovered in 1812, when the Nodes were at 29 Leo (North Node) and 29 Aquarius (South Node). I mentioned in that extensive post that ‘Leo is the sign of kings so yes, there may be a connection regarding critical issues around kings/royalty/popular figures’. Trump’s natal Ascendant is 29 Leo, putting the North Node of this dragon comet right on his Ascendant. That eclipse, by the way, was conjunct asteroid Russia and I note that Trump has just spoken to Putin in the last 24 hours as I write on February 13, 2025. Chiron was sitting on that eclipse degree from last year. What goes around, comes around as they say.
I’m also very intrigued by the huge discussions around the re-naming of places The Gulf of Mexico (to the Gulf of America), Canada (to the 51st State), Gaza (to the Middle East Riviera!), Greenland (to Red, White and Blue land!). These preposterous labels might well be a result of Jupiter in Gemini. After all, Jupiter loves to exaggerate and Gemini is concerned with facts and how we talk and think about things. It got me thinking too because underneath these common themes out there in the world, there are stories at work, themes we can draw upon in our own lives and perhaps turn into a positive.
In every example name-change I gave above, the general reaction has been horror – nope, you can’t call it that!!! Because names, mean something. Many of you joined in and commented this week on my daily post over on Facebook and Instagram when I spoke about my own name meaning and asked about yours. The replies were so interesting to read so thank you for that if you contributed! Names carry an energetic frequency. Think about how you felt when someone called you the wrong name in error – or worse, dead-named you. After changing my full name twenty years ago, I have firsthand experience of what a name means and how it can feel when someone refers to you incorrectly. It’s like an electric shock, an unpleasant ripple across my skin, as if my whole aura just repelled that word with a static NO! Names and words have power, extraordinary power. Words carry frequencies, energies. You can feel words and names and meaning, even when you can’t necessarily express it. Changing a name also means a change in numerology, another system that speaks of energies at play.
To change the words we use is to change how we think of ourselves or a place or a person. Whilst we might be reeling with the ridiculousness of current news headlines, we can still learn a (Jupiter) lesson. There are more ways to describe your experience, and yourself. Some of those words and phrases might fit and some might not. Maybe it’s time to go deeper and play with the language you’re using. As we slip into Pisces season this coming week, the Sun joining Mercury, Saturn, Neptune and the North Node there, it’s time to go beyond limited thinking. You are more, says Pisces. You are as vast as the universe and as old as time. Your name has been many names and your soul is a name that sounds like the brush of wings.
