As I begin writing this post, it’s only Wednesday (April 3) and in the past three days dozens were killed in a nightclub fire in Istanbul, aid workers were killed in an Israeli strike on Gaza, revolutionary guards were killed by the destruction of the Iranian consulate in Syria, a barrage of Russia attacks has targeted energy supplies in Ukraine and now there’s been a massive earthquake in Taiwan.
Meanwhile, as the world rages out there, in here, in this astrologer’s head, another war is being waged – what to do first, what to write first, what to publish first, which book to read first? First world problems in my case for sure but still, this tempestuous energy is fraught with frustration. The other morning, I found myself stuck in overwhelm, ready to throw my toys out of the pram. It must have taken me at least an hour to calm down enough to remember, oh, Mercury’s retrograde, there’s a multitude of planetary presence in Aries activating my natal Aries stellium, and transiting Mars is in ‘don’t know where I am, what’s going on, anyone got a light?’ Pisces! And we’re coming up to an eclipse…and Jupiter and Uranus will soon meet on my natal Mars. Okay, enough already.
Enough already!
Is it enough? Maybe that’s what we’re wondering right now. Is all this fire enough to catapult me towards my goal? Am I motivated enough, angry enough, fired up enough, energetic enough to do what needs to be done? May I counter with, have you rested enough? Have you cried out the anger enough? Have you meditated enough? Have you exercised enough? Have you consulted with your inner wisdom keeper enough? Have you listened to your intuition enough? Have you dreamed enough? As I said, Mars, the ruler of Aries is in Pisces currently. Behind all the Aries posturing and shouting is a lost little child looking for their dolly.
I pause, think about what to write next, get up, sit down, get up again, stare out of the window. A delivery van pulls up right outside with the words Let’s Go! on the side! Good grief Aries, simmer down will you!
Mount Etna blows smoke rings and laughs.
We’re going round in circles (or so it seems). Because right now we’re in no man’s land, liminal space, the world within worlds, not here, not there, fairyland, mid-world. Everything feels outside of time. I have an odd sensation that I’m seeing atoms floating in the air, the fabric of life deconstructing, forming new patterns, new molecules, the birthing of a new history right here, right now. Also, we’re not going anywhere because Mars is coming up to a conjunction with Saturn this week and that’s the astrological equivalent of running into a roadblock.
Or is it?
Is the roadblock really there in Pisces or is it an illusion? When we trust our intuition. When we listen to the Gods, accept our responsibilities, act with grace - maybe the wall will melt back into the sea of dreams.
