The Full Moon occurs at 00:48 (BST) on April 24, 2024. The Moon will be at 4SCO17. To convert this to your time zone go here.
In traditional astrology, the Moon is considered to be in its fall in Scorpio. In the opposite sign Taurus, Luna is exalted. Why? Because Taurus is about matter, clay, Mother Earth, manifestation, the first Eden. Taurus is LIFE itself and the Moon is the archetypal mother. But opposite sign Scorpio is connected to death and endings. Taurus = Life, Scorpio = Death – the very extremes of each sign summed up into two opposing words.
When we are in Scorpio land, we too can go to extremes and miss the shades of grey in between. Fear lurks under every angry response, every trigger, every sense of loss of control, every surge within that says mine, mine, mine, MINE! Taurus may be life, but Taurus can also smother life by holding on to what it has. Eventually there’s no room for any further growth, no room even for the weeds that bring in pollinators. Scorpio sits with a knowing smile and says, sooner or later, you will come to me. Why not come willingly? After all, I am the fertiliser for your beautiful garden. Learn to let go and your life will grow.
In our natal Scorpio house, we’re learning something about the nature of fear, power and control. Each Scorpio Full Moon will bring issues to a head so that we can identify where we are losing power. Underneath the fear we are rich in resources just waiting to be used. Life can sometimes feel complicated in our Scorpio house and undoubtedly this is where our emotions can be stormy. What happens in this house is felt intensely. But it is through this confrontation with our deepest fears that we learn to appreciate life’s abundance. Knowing what we can lose (Scorpio) makes us super-conscious of what is valuable (Taurus). When we feel secure (Taurus), then we can fully embrace our passions without fear (Scorpio).
Look to the house where the Full Moon will occur in your own chart and consider some or all of the following questions in regard to the area of life concerned. Alternatively, you can just use these as journal prompts for this lunation.
What am I being asked to transform?
Where does my power lie?
What is in my control?
What am I most afraid of?
What am I obsessing about?
What are my secrets?
What do I need to release?
If I wasn’t afraid I would…
